Six Easy Steps for Setting Your Near Future GoalsWe dream about where we want to go but, we don’t always know what map to follow to get there.

That’s why I’ve summarized seven steps below to help you in constructing the perfect road map to your goals.

  1. Make sure the goal you’re working for is something you really want, not just something that seems great.

When setting goals, it is crucial that you align your goals consistently with your values.

  1. A goal cannot contradict any of your other goals.

This is called non-integrated thinking and will hamper all the hard work you put into your goals. We want to get rid of contrary thoughts from our thinking.

  1. Write goals for the six main areas of your life:
  • Family
  • Financial
  • Spiritual
  • Physical
  • Personal
  • Mental

As you start to analyze and change the basics of everyday living, setting goals in each area of life will ensure a more balanced life. Placing goals in every single area also helps in removing the nonintegrated thinking we talked about.

  1. Write your goal in the positive instead of the negative.

Work for whatever you want, not for what you would like to leave behind. Part of the reason why we write down and analyze our goals is to develop a set of instructions for our subconscious mind to carry out. Your subconscious mind is an extremely efficient tool, it cannot determine and it does not judge. Its function is to carry out its instructions. The more favorable directions you give it; the more positive results you’ll get. Believing positively in everyday life may also assist in your growth as a human being. Don’t limit it to goal setting.

  1. Write your goals out in complete detail.

Instead of writing “career success,” write “Three clients a day that are in alignment with me, value my abilities and are happy to pay for my services. Once again we are giving a thorough group of instructions to work with the subconscious mind without limiting other possibilities by saying this must happen first. The more information you give, the clearer the final outcome becomes. The more exact the results, the more efficient the subconscious mind can become.

  1. By all means, ensure that your goal is high.

Shoot for the moon, if you miss you’ll be in the stars.
